Research Notes:

     It's possible that the siblings Paul Cormier and Hypolite Cormier may be the same person.

Paul was baptized on 16 Nov 1800 in St. Landry Parish. His birth date isn't mentioned in this record, but it's likely his birth was within a few months to a couple of years, putting it between 1798-1800. For now I've assumed it to be around 1800. No marriage has been found for him, nor any record of children.

Hypolite was married in Jan 1820 at age 20, which gives him an estimated birth in about 1799-1800 (if you believe the age given). He had at least two children, in 1825 and 1828. A succession record was found for him in Oct 1829, so he presumably died around then.

Consider these points:
(a) the name Paul could be a nickname for Hypolite;
(b) they both were born within the same timeframe;
(c) there's plenty of space between the births of other siblings to fit either or both of them in that timeframe; and
(d) there are no conficts in the events of these two men.

I'm inclined to believe they may be the same person... but I'm not ready to merge them until I find more compelling evidence to support it.
