Also living with him was his wife, Alzire Coles (given age 40), his son(s) Earl J, Alex Edmond and Clyde, his daughter(s) Mary Etta and Eurline. They rented their home, which was on a farm, for four dollars per month, probably from Earl's father who lived next to them. Earl had completed three years of high school, and Alzire had a fifth grade education. During the week before the census was taken, Earl had worked 20 hours on the farm for his own account. During 1939 he worked 36 weeks, and had received other income.6
