Census1840 | M P Guillory was enumerated as the head of a household on the 1840 census at St. Landry Parish, LA. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household: Adelline (Rivette) Guillory, free white female 20 to 30 years old; and Adeline Guillory, free white female five to ten years old. In addition, three free white males under the age of 5 lived in the household. (Since Mathieu had only female children that we know of, it is unknown who these boys were. His other two older daughters may have died by then, or were living elsewhere. They were too young to be married and on their own.) Also living there were five slaves.4 |
Census1850 | Mathieu Guillory (given age 50) was enumerated as the head of a household on the 1850 census at St. Landry Parish, LA. Other household members included Adele Guillory (given age 25). He was a planter, and neither of them could read or write. There is also an enumeration of 14 slaves owned by "P M Guilhori", which were probably his.5,6 |
