No occupation was mentioned for Charles. Anna worked as a seamstress from her home, while the girls attended school.9 [Note that Charles was enumerated a week earlier in Illinois, living in a boarding house in Moline. Including him as head of household must have been a fabrication by Anna, since his whereabouts were probably actually unknown to the family]
