Research Notes:

For many years I had assumed that William Laurence Morgan probably died around 1914, when he went missing from his father's home, a possible accidental death or suicide. However quite by accident I found a death record for him in 1937, showing that he had been in prison. The record shows his parents' names and matches his birth date, so I feel pretty confident it is for him. It isn't yet known when he entered prison, but that surely would explain his disappearance. Perhaps his parents didn't know, or maybe they just wanted it hidden. I'll update this as I find out more about this period of his life. Unfortunately there are plenty of William Morgans around, so it will take some time to decipher which records belong to him.
