With him was his wife Therese, son(s) Nanson and Felie, daughter(s) Luce, Nellie, Elnola and Nelly . Prosper worked on his own farm, which he owned free and clear of any mortgage. He, his wife, and their two oldest children could read, write, and speak English.3 
Census1910*11 May 1910 Prosper Rivet (given age 41) was enumerated as the head of a household on the 1910 census on 11 May 1910 at Assumption Parish, LA. Also living in the house was his wife Tirisa, son Hensel, Felix and Prosper, daughter Naila, Alnola, Nellie, Odile, Mable and Hazzel. Their home was rented. Prosper made his living working as a farm laborer, while his wife worked at home. She was the mother of 12 children, 10 still living. Neither of them could read or write English. Although Prosper could speak English, everyone else in the family spoke only French. Living next to them was their oldest daughter, Luce Daigle, with family.4

Also living in the house was, son(s) Felix Rivet (given age 20), Prosper Rivet (given age 15) and Clifton Rivet (given age 13), daughter(s) Odile Rivet (given age 17), Mable Rivet (given age 12), Hazel Rivet (given age 10) and Theresa Rivet (given age 3). [Although Clifton was enumerated as a son, he was actually a nephew.] "Prispen" was widowed, and was a tenant farmer. He could not read or write.9

Also living in the house was, his son(s) Felix and Prosper, his daughter(s) Theresa and Odele, his daughter-in-law, Louise Rivet (given age 23), his son-in-law, Russell Guidry (given age 30). Prosper was widowed, and his home was rented for $15 per month. He worked as a laborer for a lumber mill.10 
Death*18 Mar 1949 Paul Prosper (Pierre) Rivet Sr. died at age 79 on 18 Mar 1949 in Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, LA.11,6
